She was called to the Ontario bar in 1995 and the BC bar in 1996, received her law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1993 where she was awarded the McNeil Sinclair award for outstanding oral advocacy, and has a Bachelor of Arts (honours) from the University of Western Ontario.

Suzanne devotes time to initiatives that advance the rights and well being of children such as authoring the Canadian Bar Association’s Child Rights Toolkit for lawyers, launching the BC Hear the Child Society’s Roster of child interviewers, and soon introducing the low bono/pro bono collaborative law model to Victoria.  She has also been an invited speaker for the National Judicial Institute, Continuing Legal Education Society of BC, and Pacific Business and Law Institute among other forums.
