The Brown Henderson Melbye team has been very active in the community these past few weeks.
On February 24th some of our team members as well as friends and family participated in the Coldest Night of The Year walk to support Our Place Society. Brown Henderson Melbye was among the top fundraisers for this event! There was a 2km, 5km and 10km walk with hot chocolate and water along the way. This was the first year Our Place Society held this fundraiser and it was a huge success; our mayor Lisa Helps addressed the crowed to speak about how lucky we are to have Our Place Society. Hopefully you and your family can make it out to this event next year!
On March 1, 2018 some members from our team gathered at the Oak Bay News Women in Business event to honour Trudi Brown, Q.C. being awarded the Business Leader of the Year award. Click here to read more about Trudi from the Oak Bay News and to watch her interview. We are very proud of you, Trudi!
On March 8, 2018, Bridges for Women Society hosted their annual International Women’s Day Luncheon which a few of us attended. Brown Henderson Melbye always looks forward to sponsoring this annual event. This community event has been an on-going success for several years now and we always look forward to the inspirational leaders who speak at the Luncheon. This year, two of the speakers were Tracy Porteous, Executive Director of Ending Violence BC, and JR LaRose, former member of the BC Lions and member of Be More Than A Bystander campaign.
