Jake Holm – Lawyer

Jake is a born and raised Vancouver Islander and was called to the Bar after completing law school at the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining Brown Henderson Melbye, Jake worked as Crown counsel for Justice Canada. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Victoria, where he graduated with honors and distinction.
Jake has a broad family law practice covering property division, parenting matters, child and spousal support, family planning, and protection of persons. Jake regularly appears in the province’s provincial and superior courts and engages in alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation and arbitration, to obtain the best possible results for his clients. In addition to litigation and dispute resolution, Jake provides advice and customized services to those navigating the legal dimensions of starting and ending relationships, estate and advanced planning, assisted reproduction, and adoption. Jake is passionate about providing excellent counsel and care to his clients and is a strong advocate for their interests throughout the life of a file.
Jake currently sits on the board of Family Services of Greater Victoria and is a supervising lawyer with Pro Bono Students Canada.
Beyond his law practice, Jake is a father and a musician. He enjoys spending time outdoors with family, friends, and his chocolate lab, Mango.
