On June 20, 2017, some of Brown Henderson Melbye’s artistic stars attended Art at the Pub at the Six Mile Pub in Colwood.

Art at the Pub was hosted by the West Shore Arts council and sponsored by the Six Mile Pub. Art at the Pub is a social event, in which attendees share a meal and drinks together, and participate in a watercolour workshop. This Art at the Pub had instructor Terri Rodstrom lead the attendees through the creation of a watercolour of a West Coast scene. Terri, who has won art awards, believes in the 10,000 strokes theory; the more you paint the better you get.

The West Shore Arts council is an organization serving residents of the five West Shore communities, namely Langford, Colwood, View Royal, Metchosin and the Highlands. It was created to foster creativity and innovation through actively engaging Westshore communities in the sharing of their art, culture and heritage. It is run by a volunteer Board of Directors and includes a number of events and programs throughout the year, including a lantern festival in September 2016, a Canada 150 Art Tree Project, Quilt Show and Recycle Art Show in 2017.
