antha Rapoport is excited to be one of the founding volunteers at the Free Fernwood Family Law Legal Information Clinic, which will be running every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fernwood NRG building at 1313 Gladstone Avenue. The clinic will be focused on issues relating to children and families. Intake appointments can be set up by contacting Abby Cronk, Family Resources Worker, at abby@fernwoodnrg.ca.
The Fernwood NRG building, where the Clinic is located, has an on-site daycare and programming for families and children. On her last shift, Sam saw three clients to discuss a range of issues including changes to parenting arrangements and child support. Sam also assisted a client in preparing cross-examination for a trial where she was representing herself. Sam believes the Clinic will be a great resource for the community to access support and information about their rights and responsibilities in the family law process. Sam is pleased to be able to connect directly with families in a space that provides resources and support, and she looks forward to her continued involvement with this great community-based project.
